# 978-0-9512656-2-8 Northern Exposure, the Royal Air Force at work in Scotland,
Purchased products will not feature the Squadron Prints watermark.
Northern Exposure was born out of an idea to help illustrate the Royal Air Forceâs spectrum of operations in Scotland in pictorial format, and at the same time help raise funds for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. Although many books of this genre about the RAF have been produced in the past, the importance of the junior service in Scotland is often glossed over. It is our aim to rectify this imbalance.
The book covers all the frontline RAF Stations in Scotland, together with their resident squadrons and aircraft types including the Tornado F3, Tornado GR4, Nimrod MR2 and Sea King HAR3. We also take a look at some of the lesser-known airfields, squadrons and aircraft types, as well as some of the ground support activities which play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the RAF in Scotland. Lastly, we illustrate the importance of some of the major flying exercises regularly held in Scotland including Neptune Warrior and the Combined Qualified Weapons Instructors Course.
We wish to attract as many ordinary people as possible to buy the book, ranging from those with a passing interest in aviation to those currently serving in the RAF and youngsters wishing to follow a career path in the Royal Air Force. The book is a pictorial work of 160 pages long with 200 full colour photographs. The book is a memorable and distinctive collection of images of the RAF in Scotland, promoting the service from as many angles as possible in an entirely positive manner.
