Part of No. 1 Group RAF, the ISTAR Force Headquarters, Air Wing and Force Elements are based both at RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Waddington with additional sub-units around the UK and overseas. The ISTAR Force is committed to operations around the world and provides wide ranging support on a daily basis, operating air systems and capabilities from both home bases and deployed locations.  The personnel and equipment that comprise the ISTAR Force are required to continuously develop and adapt to achieve their Mission for UK Defence: ‘To Deliver Understanding and Force Protection to Commanders at all levels’.
