Tornado Stage 3 (TS3) Programme was a major upgrade to the RSAF Tornado fleet. This programme commenced in April 2014, with initial capability delivered in April 2016 and full operational capability in April 2018. The overall aim of the Progamme was to address obsolescence and supportability issues which was achieved by the introduction of new Displays, Video Recording Systems, Head Up Display camera. Operational capability was also improved with this programme by the introduction of PavewayTM IV and Link 16 bringing the aircraft up to date and providing greater airborne flexibility with better Situational Awareness. The embodiment of TS3 was undertaken at Tornado Programmed Depot Maintenance facilities at King Abdul Aziz Air Base. Combined teamwork between the RSAF, SBDCP, MODSAP and the PC saw the delivery of a very successful programme which has provided an outstanding update to the operational capability of the Tornado.
